Diagnoses
For a position in the Saalekreis district, a caregiver is sought for an 87-year-old gentleman (180 cm, 80 kg) who suffers from incontinence and age-related weakness. Following a stroke in 2023, he uses a wheelchair but can take a few steps with assistance – he requires support when walking, standing up, and transferring, but lifting is not necessary. His right side is limited, and since the stroke, he no longer speaks, but he can express his wants and needs, and mentally, he is in good condition for his age. He needs help with personal hygiene, dressing, undressing, and toileting; he uses incontinence briefs and a urinary condom at night. The family prepares the medication in advance, and the caregiver supervises its administration. Night duty is generally not required, except in emergencies. The caregiver's duties will also include assisting with daily activities, maintaining the household, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping (stores are within walking distance, and the family can assist with shopping), as well as providing companionship to the gentleman. The household consists of two people – the client's wife, who does not require care but can no longer care for her husband and only needs help with household tasks; their son and his wife live upstairs in the same house. The seniors occupy the ground floor. The caregiver is provided with a furnished guest room in the winter garden, which is heated, has electric blinds, and Wi-Fi. The family wishes to show the space in advance through photos or video calls to ensure it suits the candidate. A woman with intermediate German knowledge is sought, a driver's license is not required, and smoking is only allowed outside the apartment. The caregiver can arrange her free time with the family.

You don't pay our employment agency anything at all. We believe it is not right to charge people money in order to enable them to work, and so we offer assistance in finding job positions completely free of charge.
Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
