Caregiver Needed for Night Shifts (Westerburg, Germany) Care for one male, 94 years old (100 kg, 175 cm), who is bedridden. The senior is mentally sound, has a urinary catheter, suffers from swelling, protein deficiency, and prostate cancer. He is connected to an oxygen supply. Caregiver Responsibilities: The role involves being available at night—approximately 3 to 4 times per night, the senior needs to be repositioned (a pressure-relief mattress is available), possibly assisted with bowel movements, or the oxygen equipment needs to be checked. During the day, a nursing service visits four times daily to provide hygiene care, monitoring, repositioning, and supervision of the oxygen device. Working Hours: Night shift (3–4× per night). Lifting Assistance: Yes, as needed. During the Day: Free time, only night care is required. Household: The wife (88 years old) also lives in the house. The daughter and her husband visit on weekends. Accommodation: The caregiver is provided with furnished guest rooms (2 rooms, bathroom, toilet, bed, table, wardrobe, chair), without a private kitchen. The house is a spacious family home (380 m²). Internet is available. Requirements: Basic to intermediate knowledge of German, healthcare education is an advantage. Smoking is allowed only outside the house. Suitable for someone who likes animals—a friendly 13-year-old Labrador lives in the household. Time Off: As agreed with the family, free time during the day.

Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
